38 people are confirmed dead and the search is on for at least 150 more following a 6.2-magnitude earthquake that struck central Italy early this morning near Amatrice. A small town with a population of a few thousand, Mayor Sergio Perozzi says his town “is no more.” The quake hit at 3:36 a.m. local time.
A second powerful earthquake has stricken Nepal this morning, registering 7.4 on the Richter Scale. Just weeks ago a first quake ravaged the nation and left more than 8,000 people dead.
