Please send prayers up for the family of three-year-old Erin Washington. She died after playing at Monkey Joe’s in Matthews. Apparently, she died of natural causes after playing at at the popular entertainment center, according to the medical examiner’s report the Charlotte Observer reported. The cause of death, regardless of what it was, offers little solace to a family that will bury their daughter likely the same week she was celebrating her fourth birthday. Erin was at Monkey Joe’s to celebrate her fourth birthday which is later this week.

Kelly Ronna, a spokesperson for Monkey Joe’s, told the Observer that the company has gotten no indications about what caused Erin’s death.
“We have viewed the video footage,” Ronna said. “… here’s no evidence of an accident or injury at our facility.”
A GoFundMe account to raise money for funeral expenses has raised nearly twice the amount initially requested.
