Traveler’s Rest High School in South Carolina temporarily banned, then unbanned, American flags from football games. What seemed to be unreasonable and unpatriotic, may have been for good reason. In previous Travelers Rest High School against Berea – a school with a predominantly Hispanic population- Traveler’s Rest some students and fans used American flags to taunt and insult Berea students and fans.
As such, the principal banned the flag at games, so as not to allow people to under the guise of patriotism, taunt Hispanic people. However the decision has recently been overturned. What are your thoughts?
