Suicide Rate For Black Children Doubles

A new study in the journal JAMA Pediatrics reports that suicide rates among black children has risen dramatically.  Researchers were shocked to find that black children between ages 5 to 11 have nearly doubled in 25 years. Rates for white children has decreased, making it the first time a higher suicide rate for blacks than for whites reported.  It is speculated that the increase is due to violence and traumatic stress and early-onset puberty.
