TBR — Richmond, VA — Jayceon “The Game” Taylor recently stopped by Praise 104.7FM to speak with The Belle. While there he talked about his latest release “Jesus Piece” which was inspired by his Christian faith, his fiancé; his upcoming TV show and how his new lifestyle has resulted in being judged.
Taylor, 32, was baptized at Bishop Noel Jones’ City of Refuge Church in Gardena, Calif., last year. However, the rapper has publicly admitted to struggling with completely letting go of his former lifestyle and told The Belle, “I’m a work in process.”
Although the rapper has publicly admitted to smoking and drinking he also said that it’s tough speaking about his Christian faith because of the judgment that he receives.
“You want to believe in God, but you don’t want to be criticized and ridiculed by people who think that they’re better than you”. However he also said he realizes that others who are struggling in their walk are now looking at him and he is determined to stay on track.
“I just want the brothers who are trying to look mean and hard, to just say, “I believe in God. Just tell your mom, you love God, just simply take the first step. It’s not hard.”
