Liya Kebede is a woman after my own heart. When the top model found out weavers in her native country of Ethiopia were losing their jobs becauseof a decline in local demand for their goods, she decided to do something about it.

So, in March 2008 Liya announced the launch of her clothing line, LemLem, as a way to inspire economic independence in her native country and to preserve the art of weaving.

Today, Lemlem, which means to flourish or bloom in Amharic, is thriving.

Check out her Spring 2010 collection at http://www.lemlem.com/.
