And it’s not just any fried chicken; it’s delectible pan-fried chicken from the kitchen of chef Jim Noble of the Noble Restaurant group. “The King’s Kitchen” is a not for profit restaurant, whose grand opening is this coming Thursday, April 22 2010 downtown Charlotte at the corner of Trade and Church.

The new restaurant will fuel economic vitality and growth in Charlotte’s Center City and the greater metropolitan area creating jobs and supporting community development. This will be done by working together with businesses, ministries, non-profits and people of faith to employ, train and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to troubled youth, rehab graduates and other members of our community who are in need of employment. All you have to do is show up and enjoy the food!!!

With the mandate from the Word of God to feed the poor, The King’s Kitchen concept is designed to help those in need in a variety of ways. By helping the disenfranchised, this restaurant will become a jewel of the city. It will operate in the spirit of excellence by training, equipping and sending out developed leaders into our community.  “The King’s Kitchen” will operate as a public restaurant, serving local, healthy, comfort food  at a medium price point, and the profits and proceeds from “The King’s Kitchen” will go toward the mission of “The King’s Table.”

First, the restaurant will employ a segment of our community that is considered unemployable, from people who have come out of prison and rehab, to youths that are at high risk from dropping out of school. Once employed, they will receive training to run a full service restaurant from the front of the house to the back. They will also receive leadership and spiritual training as well in order to gain the life skills that are necessary to be successful in today’s job market. In this supportive environment those once at risk for failure are poised for success.

Secondly, the profits from The King’s Kitchen will provide funds and/or foods for established feeding centers in the community to provide meals for those in need. Designed to operate profitably, all profits will be used to help feed the hungry here in Charlotte, surrounding areas and in other parts of the world.

The King’s Kitchen is a new recipe to help fight hunger around Charlotte and the world and is an outreach of Restoration Word Ministries. RWM was founded by Jim and Karen Noble in 1998 and began with a radio teaching ministry focused on the healing power of God. Through the years the ministry has grown and expanded with a partnership with Jim Noble Restaurants to feed the hungry in several counties of N.C. each Thanksgiving. Recently the ministry has been able to expand to feeding people weekly because of partnership with Hoskins Park Ministry. With the addition of The King’s Kitchen the dream of feeding God’s sheep daily will become a reality.
