Much of North Carolina Faces ‘Extreme’ Wildfire Danger in Coming Days

Much of North Carolina will experience “extreme” wildfire danger over the next several days, according to WBTV. As of Friday, Feb. 28, more than two-thirds of the state is in either the “extreme” or “very high” danger levels. The fire risk will intensify over the weekend, with nearly the entire state facing these high-risk levels both days. This trend will continue through Monday and Tuesday, before a slight decrease on Wednesday, when rain and storms may reduce the danger. By Thursday, most of North Carolina will return to a “high” fire risk.
