Much of North Carolina will experience “extreme” wildfire danger over the next several days, according to WBTV. As of Friday, Feb. 28, more than two-thirds of the state is in either the “extreme” or “very high” danger levels. The fire risk will intensify over the weekend, with nearly the entire state facing these high-risk levels both days. This trend will continue through Monday and Tuesday, before a slight decrease on Wednesday, when rain and storms may reduce the danger. By Thursday, most of North Carolina will return to a “high” fire risk.
