The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the Carolina Panthers have cut ties with quarterback Jake Delhomme. The veteran quarterback was one of the team’s marquee players, but struggled tremendously last season.
Delhomme’s agent, Rick Smith, confirmed to the Observer Thursday night that the team released Delhomme. Smith told the Observer there could be a press conference today to officially announce Delhomme’s release. Team officials offered no comment Thursday night, and Delhomme didn’t return messages.
Delhomme came under fire last season after the team’s dismal start. Do you think cutting Delhomme was the right move? Observer columnist Scott Fowler argues cutting Delhomme was a mistake. What do you think?
