CNN Reports R&B Singer Teena Marie Dies

CNN is reporting that Teena Marie, an award-winning singer-songwriter known for her R&B performances, has died, her manager said Sunday. She was 54. CNN contributer Roland Martin is reporting on his Twitter feed that Marie’s daughter found the singer in her California home this morning.
Marie was Rick James’ protege. The two gave us slow jam hits such as “Fire and Desire.” Her other hits include “Portuguese Love” and “Lovergirl.”
