The Oscars saw a little more color than in years past.  History was made last night as Ruth Carter and Hannah Beachler became the first African Americans to win best costume design and best production design, for Black Panther. Black Panther also won best original score. Spike Lee finally got his due, winning best adapted screenplay for BlacKkKlansman. Mahershala Ali is now two for two on best supporting actor wins, this time for his role in Green Book which also won best picture.  Regina King won best supporting actress for If Beale Street Could Talk.  Domee Shi won for best animated short. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won the Academy Award for best animated feature film, making co-director Peter Ramsey the first black person to win in this category.  The film was hailed for its representation of Miles Morales, a black Puerto Rican teen in Brooklyn, New York, who portrayed Spider-Man in the film.
