U.N. Approves Harsh Sanctions Against North Korea

Yesterday, the U.N. Security Council unanimously agreed to the harshest possible sanctions against North Korea. After the country’s sixth test on Sept. 3, the council has decided to cap North Korea’s imports of refined and crude oil at 8.5 million barrels a year, and ban textile exports. This amounts to what last year was more than a quarter of North Korea’s export income.
