There’s no shortage of statistics when the issue of gun violence is the topic of discussion. In the first 10 days of 2016, there were over 100 people shot in Chicago.  Charlotte too has seen its share of gun related incidences in the first couple of weeks of the New Year. Because Congress continues to fail to address gun control in a meaningful way, President Obama has promised to take up the issue with an Executive Action.  Although many Americans applaud President Obama’s efforts, it’ll still take Congress to pass more aggressive measures if we’re to see a dent in what amounts to a crisis. An interesting question is beginning to emerge during this debate: What would gun control look like if NRA supported members of Congress were personally impacted by gun violence. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland delves into why gun control continues to divide our nation along partisan political and cultural lines.
