Donald McCullin, a new municipal judge in Ferguson, has announced that he has directed municipal court system to void arrest warrants issued before 2015. It is a part of the city’s reform to address institutional racism as found by the Justice department report that found the court system in the city to be guilty of widespread racial discrimination. The judge also plans to lower the penalties for traffic violators who don’t show up to court, a tactic believed to be used to prey on lower income citizens.
