Little Rock, AR — The deaths of a Little Rock man and his wife, 2nd Vice Chair of the Gospel Announcers Guild, in a house fire early Wednesday (June 12, 2013) are being investigated as suspicious.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says the victims who died in their home at 405 Markwood Drive are identified as Donald Creer, 50, and Donna Creer, 57.

Donna Creer was the 2nd Vice Char of the Gospel Announcers Guild, GMWA and worked in the field of Education.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 3:11 a.m. and found the bodies inside the home after forcing their way in through a carport door. Both victims were pronounced dead at separate hospitals.

The LRPD says there were no visible signs of injury to the victims.

The bodies are at the State Crime Lab for autopsies to determine the cause of death.

Detectives are working to determine what happened inside the home. The incident report notes that a back sliding glass door was found to be unlocked.

The fire’s cause is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Meanwhile, the Little Rock Fire Department is investigating a second deadly fire in the city.

It happened Tuesday night at 1915 South Park Street, just south of Wright Avenue, shortly before 10:00.

Police say a woman died in that fire while her 50-year-old son was able to escape.

The fire was reported to have been contained to the victim’s room.

Police have not yet released the woman’s name or information on the cause of that fire.
