Two years after he first took a knee on the football field, to protest police brutality, former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be awarded one of Harvard University’s highest honors, the W.E.B Du Bois Medal.   On October 11, Harvard’s Hutchins Center for African & African American Research, will award Kaepernick with the award named for the  African-American writer and activist and author of The Souls of Black Folk.
