A 12-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy each lost an arm in two separate shark attacks at an Oak Island, North Carolina beach on Sunday. The attacks just 90 minutes apart. Both victims were airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, and are in fair condition. The female victim’s arm was amputated at the elbow while the male victim’s arm was amputated below the shoulder. The girl also suffered serious tissue damage to her leg. Both incidents occurred at high tide in barely waist deep water near Ocean Crest Pier.
