“When you gotta go, you gotta go!”  Well, according to the WaterSaver Faucet Company, it doesn’t quite work like that.  The Chicago-based company have implemented a policy that employees are required to not take longer than 6 minutes during a bathroom break or disciplinary action will be carried out.  The action was implemented due to the fact that in June, employees were taking restroom breaks in excess of 60 minutes or more in a 10 day span, which equates to about 6 mins a day.  If their in the bathroom, time is lost on the assembly line.  The controversy started when the company implemented a swipe key system to use the restroom to track lavatory activity.  To reward workers for not abusing the privileges, they also have reinforced a policy that gives employees up to a $20 gift card for the month ($1 per day) if they do not use a bathroom break during a whole work shift.  The story gets even deeper, because some employees do not have paid sick days so they can not afford to miss work, which results in them having to go to the bathroom more.  The workers union is investigating.  To read the full story, click the link below!
