Gospel Legend Jessy Dixon Dies At 73: Gospel legend Jessy Dixon passed away at his Chicago home on Sept 26, 2011, at the age of 73. Dixon, born in Texas, came to prominence in Chicago, first as a session keyboardist for Chess Records, then later in front of the Chicago Community Choir, an offshoot of the Thompson Community Singers, with his choir recording several albums on Savoy Records.
