We Remember Nikki Ross Bellamy
We’re remembering a voice that has been part of the soundtrack of gospel music for decades. Singer Nikki Ross Bellamy has passed away at the age of 54.
You may know Nikki’s name, or you may simply know that unmistakable voice. She recorded and sang alongside Kirk Franklin, Ricky Dillard & New G, James Fortune & FIYA, The Walls Group, Jonathan Nelson and so many others.
Her church, New Jerusalem Cathedral, announced her passing on Facebook, remembering her not only for her extraordinary vocal gift, but also for the woman behind the music. “The world heard her voice. We knew her heart. Both have left an indelible mark that will not be forgotten.”
Bellamy was widely respected throughout the gospel music community and was known as one of Houston’s most distinctive voices. Though she was living in Greensboro, NC, over the course of her career, she recorded and performed with artists including Kirk Franklin, Ricky Dillard & New G, James Fortune & FIYA, The Walls Group, Jonathan Nelson, and Rodnie Bryant & CCMC.
May her music, ministry and unmistakable voice continue to be remembered.
