Girl Talk’s Prom Project heads south to Rock Hill today. Girls will be able to choose prom dresses and learn about etiquette during the event at Winthrop University from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. today.

Girls will be able to choose their gowns at a make-shift boutique created at the Dinkins Student Center, 701 Oakland Avenue, at Winthrop University. The young ladies will also have the chance to complete an etiquette class. Girls will also get tips

on prom safety, make up and skin care. Girls will also receive gift bags sponsored by Dr.

Miracle’s.

Last week, 250 girls attended Girl Talk Foundation, Inc.’s 8th Annual Prom Project at ImaginOn. Girls chose from 550 new and slightly used formal and designer dresses and accessories donated by the public.

“I am always so thrilled to see the smiles on girls faces when they walk away with a dress they like! It really is a boost in their self-esteem”, says Janine Davis, Founder and Executive director of Girl Talk Foundation, Inc.

Remaining dresses will be donated to Charlotte’s Junior League Warehouse, 1117 Pecan

Avenue, Charlotte where girls not able to attend either of the Prom Projects can still choose a dress free of charge.
