Bubba Wallace made history Sunday by becoming the first Black driver to win a major race on Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s iconic 2.5-mile oval, capturing the Brickyard 400 in dramatic fashion. The 31-year-old held off defending champion Kyle Larson through two intense overtime restarts and a late fuel scare, all following an 18-minute rain delay. According to WBTV, the win marks Wallace’s third career NASCAR Cup Series victory—and his first in one of the sport’s four crown jewel races. It also ends a 100-race winless streak, secures a playoff berth, and adds to his previous wins at Talladega (2021) and Kansas (2022).
