An earthquake struck South Carolina early Wednesday morning, according to WBTV. The 1.6 magnitude tremor occurred around 5:10 a.m. on March 19, with its epicenter located in Lugoff, approximately five miles southeast of Elgin. There have been no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage. Residents in the area may have felt minor shaking, but authorities say the quake’s low magnitude likely limited its impact. The United States Geological Survey continues to monitor the situation, but no aftershocks have been reported so far.
