JJ’s Red Hots, a beloved Charlotte hot dog shop, announced on Monday that it will close permanently after Sunday, March 16. Owners shared the news online, humorously stating, “We just couldn’t shred enough cheddar to keep it going.”

Located in Dilworth along East Boulevard near Floral Avenue, the restaurant has served the community for nearly 13 years, per WBTV. In its farewell post, the business highlighted its impressive legacy, including serving three million hot dogs, employing over 1,000 staff members, and welcoming more than 1.5 million guests. The owners noted that the food truck and catering business will remain open.
