UNC Charlotte Achieves Record High in U.S. News Rankings

Charlotte’s rise in the U.S. News rankings highlights significant improvements in key areas such as six-year graduation rates, first-year retention, and reduced graduate debt. The university’s enhanced research capabilities, particularly in citation impact, have also played a role. According to WCCB, UNC Charlotte is now tied for No. 81 among public universities, up 15 spots, alongside institutions like the University of Kansas and the University of Kentucky. Additionally, the university achieved its highest national ranking, jumping 26 places to No. 152 among 434 public and private universities. Since 2020, Charlotte has climbed a remarkable 76 spots, making it the fastest-rising national university in the Carolinas.
