There was a news story of a “would-be gunman who made plans to carry out a mass murder at Park Valley Church in Haymarket, Virginia. Thankfully, someone noticed his disturbing social media posts, took action and alerted the church and the police. That Sunday, the church security team noticed the suspect inside the building and detained him until the police arrived to arrest him. The church was spared from tragedy because they were watchful after having been warned of the danger to come. Likewise, we as believers have been given advanced warning, through the Word of God, that Jesus is soon coming back.
Mark 13:35-37 says “35 Watch therefore: for you do not know when the master of the house is coming – in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning. 36 Lest, coming suddenly, he finds you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: ‘Watch!’”
