Since joining the Radio One family last year, I’ve had the pleasure of covering El DeBarge, Slick Rick and a host of other celebrities. This week, my celebrity list grew a little longer when I had an opportunity to meet Radio One president Barry Mayo when he visited the Radio One Charlotte office this week.
Considering his radio pedigree – started WHBC 830 AM at Howard University – Mayo’s pep talk was inspirational of course. It was refreshing to hear a radio veteran talk about the company’s commitment to the web and the importance of the internet to inform and entertainment Radio One listeners. His talk was great, but I was most impressed by the catered lunch that accompanied Mayo’s visit.
It was delicious, especially the white chocolate covered strawberries. Thanks big boss!
