Stacey Dash, of “Clueless” fame has filed paperwork to run for a congressional seat in the state of California. Dash submitted official documents to the Federal Election Commission on Monday and will run on the Republican ticket to represent California’s 44th Congressional District.  The 44th District seat is currently help by Rep. Nanette Barragán, the first Latina to hold the position, and is largely Hispanic and African American.

Compton, Watts, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach make up the district of whose total population of 723,685,   511,063 identify as Hispanic, while 110,038 identify as Black. The district swayed largely Democratic in the last presidential election. Dash has been a vocal in her opposition of former President Barack Obama and supported Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
