In an effort to offer a counter to the negative headlines that flood multi-media channels, Starbucks introduces Upstanders. Upstanders is an original collection of short stories, films and podcasts sharing the experiences of “ordinary people doing extraordinary things to create positive change in their communities.” Produced by Howard Schultz and Rajiv Chandrasekaran, the Upstanders series hopes to help inspire us to be better citizens. Beginning with stories that includes a town in Michigan that is offering free college tuition to all its students, and a Washington State police department that is revolutionizing the way cops are trained, Upstanders inspires. The platform also invites you to nominate someone who is making an impact in your community. Check out the project here
