In what appears to be an effort to make him more palatable, Donald Trump took the advice of pundits and last night offered a vague apology for sometimes not choosing “the right words” throughout his campaign. “Sometimes, in the heat of debate, and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that, and believe it or not I regret it,” Trump told North Carolina supporters at the rally here in Charlotte.  With much of his soundbite repetoire including what many would call misogynistic, violent and racist, Thursday’s speech took on an entirely new tone. Trump appeared to be reading from a teleprompter, which he had refused to do earlier in the campaign. Many are crediting his new campaign managers Kellyanne Conway and Breitbart’s Steve Bannon, with Trump’s new tempered tone.
