Yesterday, the Senate voted to require women to register for the draft. Though the US hasn’t had a draft since the Vietnam War, men in the country are still required to register when they turn 18.  This comes after Defense Sec. Ash Carter announced last year that he was opening all combat jobs to women and is a part of a huge defense bill that gets passed every year. The House will now pass its own version, so that they can move forward and agree on the final bill.
