Starbucks To Raise Prices On Select Drinks, And Lower On Simple Drinks

A federal lawsuit claims that Starbucks regularly uses more ice than beverage in its iced drinks. Alleging that it intentionally does not use the advertised amount of coffee or other liquid in its plastic cups, Stacy Pincus of Chicago, accuses Starbucks of misleading consumers. The lawsuit alleges that an iced beverage advertised at 24 ounces contains about 14 ounces of fluid.

Starbucks considers the lawsuit to be without merit, saying its customers understand that ice is part of an iced beverage.

The lawsuit seeks class-action status, which could allow it to cover customers for the last ten years, seeking damages, restitution and attorneys’ fees.
