First Lady Michelle Obama made a special appearance at SXSW this week and was asked what she will miss most about being first lady. She said working with young people, and added that she will continue to do so but not as president. She used the event in Austin, Texas, to talk about her Let Girls Learn campaign – which aims to help millions of girls get an education. Alongside her on the panel were music stars Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott, and were joined by songwriter Diane Warren and activist and actress Sophia Bush. “Empowerment of Women” was the theme.
