New data released today shows that there has been no improvement in the percentage of Americans battling obesity. Despite efforts like first lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign, about 38 percent of U.S. adults were obese in 2013 and 2014. That number slightly increased from 35 percent in 2011 and 2012. The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey report also found the number of young people considered obese remained unchanged in 2013 and 2014 compared with previous years. With increased attention on healthy living choices, health experts had hoped that this would help level off obesity.
