NBC is working up an exciting live presentation of The Wiz. It’s a follow up to their 2013 The Sound of Music Live! and last year’s Peter Pan Live!’ productions. The Wiz Live! is lining up an impressive cast of star talent, including Stephanie Mills as Aunt Em, Mary J. Blige as the Wicked Witch of the West and Queen Latifah as The Wiz. However, another Queen, Queen B Beyonce remains elusive and unattainable as Glenda The Good Witch. Reports indicate that after multiple rounds of discussions, no agreement has been reached.
As for the lead role of Dorothy, NBC’s is reportedly searching for a newcomer to play the character. The Wiz will air Thursday, Dec. 3 on NBC.
