Apple announced today the latest member of its smartphone lineup, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus – a Phablet.

Like the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel camera with True Tone flash and a 2.2 aperture and an all new sensor. The panorama mode can now do 43 megapixel panoramas.

The iPhone 6 Plus shares the same internal specs as the iPhone 6, but with a higher resolution of 1920×1080 – not be quite as high as the resolutions for the SamsungGalaxy, but a record for Apple devices.

The iPhone 6 Plus’s camera, like the iPhone 6, now also lets useres take slow motion videos and has built-in cinematic video stabilization.

The iPhone 6 Plus will be available in three colors — gold, space gray and silver — on Sept. 19 in nine countries. Apple is pricing the iPhone 6 Plus at $100 more than the iPhone 6. It starts at $299 (with contract) for a 32GB device. A 64GB iPhone 6 Plus is $399 with contract and a 128GB iPhone 6 Plus is $499 with a contract. Pre-orders begin this Friday.
