Sources say Apple is getting close to purchasing headphone maker and music-streaming service Beats Electronics for a breath-taking $3.2 billion. It would be the largest purchase in Apple’s history and many say is a sign that the tech giant is seeking to introduce a music-subscription service.
Founded by rapper Dr. Dre and producer Jimmy Iovine, Beats Electronics is best known for its Beats by Dr Dre line of headphones. In September Beats was valued at more than $1 billion.
