On the Tom Joyner Cruise
TBR — Nashville, TN — The Fantastic Voyage, sponsored by Tom Joyner and Reach Media, is designed to support HBCU Institutions across the country. In that same effort, entertainers also contribute their talents by joining Joyner and the many fans who take part in the cruise with concerts, workshops and great networking.
Without a doubt the entertainment on the cruise is usually the highlight of the seven day journey. Main stream artists are the top of the line and are truly from the “A List”.
However, for the last eight years the cruise opens with a Gospel concert on Sunday departures. Many of the participants were surprised to find out that Gospel music was also a special part of the journey, in fact, a significant part of the experience. Dr. Jones, an educator for most of his life and a board member of the HBCU committee, was excited to be a part and headline the Gospel Morning Devotions each morning for two hours. The room was always filled with Gospel music lovers and people that just wanted to thank God and Praise Him.
Joining Dr. Jones this year was also a fabulous cast of some of the best singers and ministers in the Industry including; Beverly Crawford, Denise Tichenor, Shawn McLamore and Rhonda Mclamore, Everett Drake, Kyla Jade, Derrick Lee, Todd Crawford and Andre’ Nicks.
“What a great experience and what love came from every direction on the ship as highlighted songs were performed including songs from Dr. Jones new project “Rejoice With Me”, featuring Faith Evans. Dr. Jones also performed with Beverly Crawford as they performed her new release single “Sweeping Through The City.”
“Tom Joyner has always been a first class guy and once again, like clock work he has pulled off one of greatest cruises for music lovers. Needless to say, but we are already looking forward in participating with THE FANTASTIC VOYAGE AND TOM JOYNER next year,” says Dr. Jones.
