If you don’t already have tickets, it’s probably going to be nearly impossible for you to see “Wicked.” If you can get your hands on a pair; however, grab them and go. This musical is one of the hottest tickets in town, and it’s well worth it. I saw it a couple of years ago, and was blown away by the story and the singing.
“Wicked” tells the tale of the other witch in the “Wizard of Oz.” It’s a story of love in the face of discrimination and bigotry, as well a political statement against authoritarian government. Along with the powerful message is the powerful and moving singing. I haven’t seen this year’s production but judging from Charlotte Observer critic Lawrence Toppman, this one is just as good maybe even better.
