Eighth Rabies Case Confirmed in Mecklenburg County
A bat found near Choate Circle in Charlotte’s 28273 zip code has tested positive for rabies, marking Mecklenburg County’s eighth confirmed case of 2025.
Animal Care & Control reported no human exposure, though one dog was exposed. According to WCCB, a rabies alert will be issued in the area Thursday night.
So far this year, five bats and three raccoons have tested positive for the virus in the county.
