You may not know her name right away, but you’ve likely felt her influence. Kathy has spent years working behind the scenes, writing and supporting other artists. Now, she’s stepping forward into the spotlight with a sound that is all her own.
“I’m praying that listeners will hear a message of freedom in this song,” she told Erica. “It’s about finding your authentic voice and falling in love with the beautiful person that God created.”
“I’ll Fly” is a bold and soulful anthem about stepping out of fear and into confidence. Burrell described how liberating it feels to walk fully in her calling and be unafraid to share her story. “It feels amazing,” she said. “God has placed these beautiful colors on me, and I’m finally ready to share them with the world.”
But Kathy’s work isn’t just about the music—she’s committed to mentorship through her label, Your Way Music, which she describes as more than a label. “It’s a movement,” she said. “Watching people grow, watching them find their voice—that’s what brings tears to my eyes.”

Through mentorship, songwriting, and now her own releases, Burrell is using every gift she has to uplift and empower. She emphasized how important it is to continue supporting others, regardless of the outcome. “It’s more blessed to give than to receive,” she said. “And when you pour into others, God always comes through.”

Kathy is also a pastor, leading Restoration Outreach Center alongside her husband. Although the ministry currently operates online, their mission remains firm: restoring hearts, loving people, and making sure the hurting feel embraced and supported.
Looking ahead, Burrell has more music on the way and a clear sense of purpose. “I waited a long time for God to release me,” she shared. “Now that He has, everything I put out is going to be more effective—because it comes from a place of real growth and experience.”
