Hurricane Irma has reached Category 5 strength as of early this morning. Forecasters are concerned that the storm’s path currently has it on a direct course for South Florida later this week. With winds presently measured as high as 175 mph, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Island officials are urging residents to take shelter as the storm approaches. Irma is the strongest storm on record in the Atlantic since Hurricane Felix in 2007.
