Perhaps encouraged by a failed effort in our state to get rid of the “bathroom bill”, conservative lawmakers in eight other states shoring up efforts that continue present restrooms and locker rooms a political and cultural battleground.

Texas, Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington and Minnesota have all introduced bills restricting access to facilities for their 2017 legislative sessions. Texas lawmaker to a stance on Thursday, introducing a bill similar to North Carolina’s law, and Virginia introduced theirs last Tuesday, despite it’s Democratic governors pledge to reject it if it reaches his desk.

North Carolina legislators looked at repealing House Bill 2 in a special session just before Christmas however failed to agree to remove it.
