Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is the latest of governmental leadership to ban government employees’ travel to North Carolina, in response to NC’s new anti-LGBT law. New York, Connecticut, and the cities of San Francisco and Boston drew a line in the sand in the last few weeks. All in response to North Carolina’s law signed last week by Gov. Pat McCrory that requires transgender people to use public restroom facilities that correspond with their gender assigned at birth. The legislation also prevents local ordinances protecting LGBT people from discrimination.
