A 33-year-old part-time reading tutor in suburban Nashville, Tennessee has been arrested on charges of reckless endangerment after officers reportedly found three children in her trunk, according to WKRN.

Andria James was stopped for questioning on Sunday after a witness reported seeing nine children in her car as she left a gas station. Police then allegedly discovered the children in the trunk during questioning.

James, a part-time tutor with Alex Green Elementary Impact School in Northwest Davidson County, denies the allegations. The children were reportedly her students and two of her own.

She later explained that two of the kids were her children and they had stopped for pizza at the gas station after a basketball game. James insisted that they were just playing in the trunk while the car was parked and denied that she was driving when they were found.

“No, absolutely not, positively not,” James said, reported WSMV.com. “Not one minute did I leave kids in the trunk.”

However, police say the crime was caught on surveillance.

James was taken to Rutherford County Jail and released on $1,000 bond, writes the News.
