Just imagine having to choose between paying rent/mortgage or buying food. 35% of North Carolina face this dilemma everyday. Imagine having to choose between paying the heating utility bill and placing food on the table. Well, 42% of needy families in North Carolina is confronting this issue on a daily basis. And it’s especially difficult during the height of Winter. Even more daunting, according to ‘FEED EFFECT,’ one in 5 North Carolina children under 18 is hungry.  Khadija Wali-Uhud, Founder of JazzUndaground International is quite familiar with these statistics and is exhausting every effort to help. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host Ron Holland, talked with Ms. Uhud about her ‘SAVE A CHILD SAVE A LIFE’ program in which she assists children of incarcerated parents with clothing, food and a host of other needs. Ron also delves into the viral video that caused Spring Valley High School Resource Officer, Ben Fields to be fired for throwing a 16 year old student across a classroom floor.
