TBR — Richmond, VA — Emtro Records Producer/Songwriter James Johnson and about sixty singers turned out Saturday to record and collaborate on a new song of Hope and Healing for our world! Recorded on the first day of 2015 at the Red Amp Studio in the heart of downtown Richmond, VA it was a day that will long be remembered by everyone who participated.

Singers traveled in from across the RVA along with a few special industry personalities like Patrick Nobel Allen who simply stopped by to show support, while headed to Atlanta, GA.

The recorded song entitled “Heal Our Land,” written by James Johnson, co-produced and co-written by Darryl Woodson and Vocal Arranger Joseph “JoJo” Clark from the singer group RESOUND, speaks to the heart of many of our current world issues i.e. war, diseases, racism, murder, injustice and was inspired by today’s current news events.

Johnsons says, “This song was written in a dream. I was so inspired late one night that I got up out of my bed and headed for the piano, pushing out notes and words that only God could have inspired.” As a result, this song and the collaboration of artists captured a united heart, that will aid in bringing healing and hope to myriad of the devastations our world faces.

Maestro Larry Bland shared his experience on Facebook:

“Good Morning and Happy New Year To All! Bro. James Johnson, thank you for inviting me to witness, participate and support what I believe in my heart is another Historic Moment for Richmond. It is my pleasure and distinct honor to know you and others, such as Perry A. Evans and Sheilah Belle who I believe are the next generation of movers and shakers in the Richmond Gospel Music Community. My time spent in the late 1960’s to the present has been worth the journey. To be able to live to see the evolution and reshaping of musicianship and presentation in our City is truly a blessing from God. What God moved in my life to set in motion is manifesting itself in so many wondrous ways. I am so proud of the work you are doing. The recording session yesterday was one of the most organized and time efficient experiences I have ever witnessed. You are to be commended. I honestly believe that, if it is God’s Will, this project has the promise to have an extraordinary and wide reaching impact on our City, Commonwealth, Nation and the World! Please keep me posted on your progress and know that I am in your corner 100%. Thank you for including me!”

Johnson says he hopes to finish the song by the end of the month, with a few other guests laying down tracks. Confirmed guests artists so far include, Fantasia, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Troy Sneed, Ruth La’Ontra Jones, Ruben Studdard, Sheilah Belle and Troy Sneed, just to name a few.
