The National Weather Service says that the tornado that ripped by Oklahoma City on Friday, killing 18 (including a few storm chasers), was the widest twister ever on record. The giant tornado reached a width of 2.6 miles and had an unbelievable wind speed of nearly 300mph. “This is the biggest ever,” said the tornado researcher. The twister was originally rated EF 3, but then was upgraded to EF 5—the most dangerous class.
