“He can create an atmosphere for us to move in, but it would be unfair to him, for us to ask him to do for us, what he really doesn’t have the power to do.” That power is in the hands of the international bankers, corporate America. That power is the power of money, the Muslim leader pointed out.
Taking great care to remind the many clergy members and church officials who helped organize the New York homecoming that he was not in their midst to condemn them, Min. Farrakhan also had a word of counsel.
“Dear pastors, in the church are the saved. But our work is not in the church, in the mosque, in the synagogue. The real hurt and pain is in the street, where nobody brings them to the church, and they’re not coming to the mosque, and they’re certainly not going to the synagogue. And if all of us unite and go in the street after them … they’re waiting for us. Somebody to show them that we care. Talking about the love of Jesus Christ is not the answer. Showing and demonstrating the love of Christ for his people, that’s what we’ve got to do,” Minister Farrakhan said in his conclusion to his former neighbors in New Rochelle.
