It’s the season of giving and that is exactly what national gospel artists Earnest Pugh, Jessica Reedy, Le’Andria Johnson, Wess Morgn, Kim Burrell, Myron Butler and others did this week when they came to Charlotte to support the 1st Annual Thanksgiving Telethon for The Harvest Center.

The Telethon was held in response to The Harvest Center’s need for funds to help continue it’s operations.

“With the economic downturn, demand for services has drastically increased as donations received have greatly declined and with so many people being out of work, we are seeing the needs are so much greater than in years past,” said Stephen Smith, Executive Director for The Harvest Center. “At the same time donations from individuals, churches and corporate donors have dwindled. It’s just kind of been the perfect storm in the worst way in that sense. We still have been able to manage but we are really trying to raise the contribution level and tap into some different resources.”
